Experience

Electives

The start of classes is an exciting time for Upper School students. There is no feeling quite like learning to sail for the first time or mastering the art of a musical instrument. Each class lasts 45 minutes. In a given summer, a typical class schedule will expose a student to more than 12 different disciplines. Whatever your interest, the Upper School class selection of over 75 different classes is sure to provide new experiences for every camper.

Independent Study

Each summer we have a few families who ask that we provide opportunities for their sons or daughters to spend time working on academic projects and/or athletic training assigned from their high school. We are happy to discuss the possibility of scheduling Independent Study or Independent Fitness classes in lieu of a class from the Culver curriculum. A proctor can be made available who will take class attendance and help facilitate the assignment, as needed.

Upper School Class Offerings

The below list of classes is provided as an example of what Culver normally offers during the summer. While we expect nearly every class on this list to be offered, a few classes may not be offered in 2019 – and it would be equally likely that a few new classes will be added.
