CULVER ACADEMIES ATHLETICS

R. Stuart Dickson '47 Culver Academies Golf Course

Described as one of the finest nine-hole courses in North America, Culver Academies takes great pride in being stewards of a historic course design. This exceptional course was created almost a century ago by noted Golden Age golf architects William Langford and Theodore Moreau and restored in 2015 by Bobby Weed Golf Design to reveal unique features that had been hidden over the decades of nature taking its course. Since its restoration, Golfweek ranked the course as the No. 2 campus golf course in America, second only to Yale University.

Nestled between Lake Maxinkuckee and Culver Woodcraft Camp, the nine hole course is home to the boys and girls golf teams and the Academies' community.

Langford and Moreau are renowned in golfing history for their incredibly inventive use of the Midwestern landscape as their canvas for truly challenging courses. Their courses demand, but also nurture, excellence at the sport.

The restored course challenges our competitive golfers and rewards their excellent shotmaking skills, as well as provides superior facilities for novice golfers to improve their abilities – all while they enjoy the game and learn traditional golf values. The course is literally the landscape in which our students and campers will build skills, strength, character, teamwork and camaraderie.

The course also includes a practice area complete with a driving range, short game areas, and putting green, as well as a beautiful new Golf House.

Culver also offers state-of-the-art indoor golf simulators for use by our student-athletes during the cold Indiana winters.

To be authorized for play, current students and employees must use their issued Culver ID. Alumni must obtain an official bag tag. Guests are allowed to play when accompanied by an authorized student, alumni, or employee. Culver IDs are issued at the Help Desk below the Dining Hall and bag tags should be obtained in advance by contacting the Facilities Department (574-842-7500). (Facilities may be contacted between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.)
