Global Spring Pathways Program
The 2022 Global Pathways Spring program (GPS) was the thirty second year of providing service-learning and cultural exchange opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and patrons who have a desire to learn about another culture and to live responsibly as global citizens. Reverend Tom Steffen, the former Dean of the Chapel, developed the Spring Break in Mission program over thirty years ago and this program is one of his remarkable legacies. In October 2012 the name changed from Spring Break in Mission to Global Pathways Spring program (GPS) to better reflect the broad cultural and humanitarian reach of the trips.
There have been trips to nine states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and thirty-four countries.
From Mexico and Spain to Ireland and India, our students have traveled and served all over the globe though the Global Pathways Spring Program. Read firsthand accounts on the program's student-run travel blog.
There will be multiple scholarship opportunities for both CGA and CMA students for the 2022 GPS trips. Please complete the scholarship application below for consideration.
All students and adults traveling on the Culver Academies GPS trips must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 without exception.
Culver Academies has the full intention of moving forward with all of the scheduled 2022 GPS trips. However, if the COVID-19 pandemic causes us or our travel partners to cancel a trip(s), Culver will be unable to refund payments for these trips.
Parents are encouraged to consider trip insurance for the GPS trips (although most travel insurance does not cover pandemics). Grand Classrooms has travel refund policies that parents should review at the bottom of this page. Parents may also review Travel Guard insurance at www.travelguard.com or Insure my trip (www.insuremytrip.com). These two companies offer trip insurance if you have to cancel your son or daughter’s trip due to family emergencies, medical illness, etc. prior to trip.
The $600 non-refundable deposit is what holds a student’s place on a GPS trip. However, many of these trips will sell out quickly once we open the payment site on Friday, October 8, 2021, at 8:00 AM Eastern Standard Time. If a specific GPS trip sells out, students may transfer their deposit to another 2022 GPS trip. If there is not another trip that your student wishes to transfer to, then the deposit will be refunded by coordinating with the Student Accounts office. Banking information will be gathered through a secure DocuSign form in order to process refunds. Do not email your banking information to the Student Accounts office.
Cancellation: After Friday, December 3, 2021, students and/or parents that cancel their participation in a trip (after their non-refundable deposit has been paid) will be responsible for any remaining balance of their trip. This financial responsibility applies to students who withdraw, are dismissed, or have medical conditions that prohibit them from participating in the GPS trip.
The prices listed for each trip are estimated prices. The price of these trips may change if the airline fares or airline surcharges increase or the total number of registrants falls below the budgeted amount for a specific trip. The full balance for the cost of each GPS trip is due Monday, January 17, 2022.
Grand Classroom Trip Protection Options for 2021 - 2022

Travel Refund Program: Cancel up to 7 days before departure for any reason except for Acts of God and pandemics. To upgrade to full protection that included pandemics like COVID-19, select the TRP+ program above. See Terms and Conditions for full details. TRP is approximately 9% of the trip cost.
Decline all Travel Refund Programs and agree to Limited Refund Policy: If you do not enroll in either Travel Refund Program, you are agreeing to a Limited Refund Policy.
