CMA

Alex Farmer

A 1st classmen in Battery B from Argos, Indiana, Alex is a goalkeeper for the CMA Varsity soccer team. Through eight games, Alex has been the anchor for the team’s defensive effort. He has faced 88 shots, making 36 saves with several of them coming in close and requiring quick reactions to make the save. His efforts have kept the team in games. His high point was the opening match against Chesterton, with 11 saves, while his penalty kick save late in the game against Hammond Bishop Noll preserved the tie. Says Coach Major Kevin Green of Alex’s presence and performance, “The season record does not reflect the effort of the team, but we would not have any positive results without Alex’s efforts and his leadership as a co-captain.”

CGA

Heather MacNab

A junior in Ciel Dormitory from Indianapolis, Indiana Heather is a captain for the CGA soccer team. Through the first nine games of the season, Heather has tallied an impressive 14 goals and 4 assists, often while being double and triple teamed by defenders. She has shown resiliency and character in shrugging off the attentions, fouls and even the jibs of opposing players and fans to lead the attacking line. “She is a consummate athlete and soccer player, whose technique, vision, and ability allow her to influence the game on all fronts. From pressing back in the midfield line to foraging runs in attack, she has covered almost every position on the field in our season.  Off the pitch, I routinely hear her engaging and encouraging her teammates, mentoring younger players, and offering her experience to help raise the profile of the program,” says Coach Gareth Haydk of his Junior Captain.
