Erin Anderson, Senior, Tower
As four-year member of the CGA Varsity Track and Field team and 2018-19 team captain, Erin helped lead her team to a solid indoor and outdoor season. In the month of May, she took part in helping CGA Track and Field claim a sectional championship by winning in the 400-meter event, as well as anchoring the first-place 4x400-relay team. During the regional meet, she placed third in the 400 and again took part in the first-place finishing 4x400-relay team, advancing her for the second year in a row to the IHSAA State Finals in both events.
“Erin is the team captain and has led the team in word, deed, and attitude, and we will miss her next year,” said CGA Track and Field head coach Michael Chastain. “The program is very proud of her accomplishments and looks forward to seeing her compete at the Finals on June 1st.”
Henry Stewart, First Classmen, Battery B
As a senior from Indianapolis, IN, Henry recently took part in the SRAA National Championship Culver Rowing Varsity 4+ boat. As a program member, he has recorded the fastest 2K time in Culver Rowing’s history (6:02.5) making him one of the three fastest rowers in the nation. He is a Batten Scholar, the President of Green Life, and was first-make Regimental Commander. He is an exemplary student and his academic and athletic prowess will take him to Stanford University next fall, where he will be a member of their rowing team.
“Henry exemplifies the best of Culver Academies and our nation, and the best athlete and most well rounded young man I have ever coached and mentored,” said CMA Rowing head coach Nathan Walker. “He is a thoroughly nice, thoughtful young man who is a joy to be around,” he added.
