Last night, the CMA Track and Field team competed at Plymouth High School in the IHSAA sectional meet. The team placed second overall, while also taking first-place in one relay event and advancing in seven individual events.
The 4x800 relay team consisting of Clayton Long, Joseph Chandler, Jacob Graham, and Andrew Setzer recorded an overall time of 8:29.29 to finish first.
Senior Jordon Freeman (title photo) took first-place in the 100, 200, as well as being a part of the 4x100 relay team consisting of Caden Beckwith, Trent Lipsett, and Jaxon Mull, which also finished in first-place.
Junior Jacob Bird also brought home a championship, laying down a 50.95 in the 400 meter dash.
Also to advance to regional competition was Caden Beckwith finishing second in the 200 meter dash, and the 4x400 relay team consisting of Trey Mosley, Nathan Barrett, William Booth, and George Bourdier finishing in third.
Due to a scratch in the field of contenders, Michael Sobaski will also advance to the regional in the 1600 meter run. He finished fourth overall.
The CMA Track and Field team will travel to Kokomo on Thursday, May 23rd to compete in the IHSAA regional. The meet will begin at 6:00pm EST, and $8 admission will be charged.
