CMA Golf begins post-season play

Today, the CMA Golf team is traveling to Rozella Ford GC to take part in IHSAA Sectional play. They finished the regular season undefeated in dual matches with victories against all three top sectional contenders (Warsaw, Plymouth, and Triton).

The team has four returning members from the state playoff team last year (Mikey Perea '19, AJ Davidson '21, Josh Bellin '20, and Chase Frantti '19). Additionally, two new players to the lineup, Tim Neu '19 and Hudson Carmouche '20, have been able raise the bar for competitive playing spots.

"The team fully understands that four players must play well to advance, something that has plagued the team in tournament play this year," said head coach Tim Montgomery. "But we're feeling confident moving into the sectional, and looking beyond it, the regional is at a course we a familiar with."

The regional moves from Stonehenge to Swan Lake GC (Plymouth, IN) this year.

"There are numerous formidable opponents that feed into the regional that we have defeated and been defeated by in tournament play this season," added Montgomery. "To repeat what was stated earlier, we know we need four players to show up and shoot scores that are competitive."

If CMA advances, the Regional competition will take place June 6-7 at Swam Lake GC.
