CMA Basketball IHSAA semi-state preview, information

Saturday March 16th, the CMA Varsity Basketball team continues its quest to repeat as IHSAA 3A state champions as it travels to Elkhart to take on Marion High School in the IHSAA semi-state round.

The game is scheduled to tip-off at 6:00pm. 

Elkhart Central is the host school, but the game will take place at North Side Middle School's gymnasium, which is located at 300 Lawrence St., Elkhart, IN 46514. North Side Gym is an historic venue, which opened in 1954, and currently seats 7,373. 

Admission is $10, and tickets must be purchased at the gate on Saturday. The doors are scheduled to open at 2:30pm. Pre-sale tickets will not be made available. 

Prior to the start of CMA v Marion, Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian and Lafayette Central Catholic will compete for the Class 1A Semi-State Championship at 4:00 PM. There will be a 30-minute intermission between games. At the end of that 30 minutes, an additional 20 minutes will be put on the clock to allow CMA and Marion to begin warm-ups. 

Fans unable to attend in person will have their choice of ways to watch/listen to the game.

IHSAAtvSummit City Sports, Regional Radio Sports NetworkBroadcastsports.net, and WHME-TV's Facebook page will be online video broadcasting the game, and Tony Ross of Plymouth's MAX 98.3 will be doing an audio broadcast of the game. You can access the audio via MAX983.net or by visiting tunein.com and entering WYMR into the search bar.

The game will also air Saturday night at 10:00pm on WHME46 South Bend. 

CMA enters the contest 23-3, having recently won their last eight games and claiming an IHSAA regional championship with a 55-37 win over Hanover Central in the semi-final round and a 62-41 win over Hammond High School in the regional championship. They are currently ranked #3 inthe class 3A AP poll and #11 in the IBCA poll.

Marion High School is 19-7 on the season, having won four of their last five and claiming a regional championship over previously undefeated 3A powerhouse Delta High School. They are currently #14 in the class 3A AP poll.

This will be the first meeting of the Eagles of CMA and the Giants of Marion.
