On Saturday, CGA Swim and Dive participated in IHSAA sectional competition at Warsaw High School.
CGA advanced one individual in two events and one relay team in one event and to the IHSAA state-finals, while CGA Dive advanced one to regional competition.
Autumn Baumgartner ('21 Argos, IN) advanced in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle, earning first-place finishes in both with times of 23.67 and 51.97, respectively.

The CGA 400-yard freestyle relay team (title photo) consisting of Avery Bolden ('19 Chicago, IL), Amina Shafeek-Horton ('20 Charlotte, NC), Baumgartner, Kylie Dehner ('20 Plymouth, IN), and alternate Mary Cate Wright ('20 South Bend, IN) also advanced, finishing first during the sectional competition with a time of 3:45.00.
Girls swimming state-final prelims will begin Friday, February 8th at 6:00pm EST, with the consolations and finals for all events taking place on Saturday the 9th beginning at 1:00pm EST. The Indiana University Natatorium at IUPUI will host (901 W. New York St., Indianapolis).
Finishing second overall with a score of 344.50 in the girls one-meter dive, Belle Ahlenius ('20 Knox, IN) advanced to the IHSAA girls diving regional. The regional is scheduled for Tuesday, February 5th at 6:00pm EST. Penn High School will host the event. Those advancing from the regional will compete in the state-finals, which will also be held on Saturday the 9th at IUPUI. The diving prelims and semis are set to begin at 9:00am EST with the finals following at 1:00pm EST.

"Our girls worked extremely hard in preparing for the post season, and it paid off," said head coach Sarah Youvan. "We had solid times across the board and a lot of individual best times. Our newcomers to the program showed a lot of promise in their first postseason event, and we believe the future is very bright for CGA Swim and Dive."
Saturday's championship and consolation finals will be streamed live at IHSAAtv.org beginning at 1:00pm EST.
Unreserved tickets are $8 per session or $15 both days. A limited number of $18 reserved season tickets may be purchased online exclusively via the IHSAA e-commerce site at IHSAA.org beginning Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019 at 9:00am EST. Reserved seating for a single session will not be available. Reserved tickets will not be sold over the phone or in person at the IHSAA Office.
