Culver Girls Academy Hockey's McKinley Hoff (G, '02), Abbey Marohn (D, '02, title photo), and Megan McKay (D, '03) began participation today in the USA Hockey U16/17 Player Development Camp at the Herb Brooks Hockey Center in St. Cloud, MN. The camp will run from June 25th through July 1st.
All three CGA players earned one of only 144 total spots (eight teams of 18 players) by advancing via her district's tryout process.
The camp gives some of the country's top U16 and 17 female players the opportunity to receive on- and off-ice training from elite level instructors, as well as the opportunity to compete against their peers from across the nation. Additionally, the camp is used to determine which players will advance to fill the remaining roster spots for the Girls U18 Select Camp.
“We are very happy for these three players, and we wish them the best of luck throughout camp” said Culver Director of Athletics Louise Ericson. “Being selected is proof of the hard work they’ve put in, and we are extremely excited about the direction of the CGA Hockey program.”
Games from the camp will be streamed online via HockeyTV.com.
