Louise Ericson joined Culver Academies as the Director of Athletics on July 1, 2014. She oversees all CMA and CGA athletic programs which includes approximately 40 sports and 60 athletic teams. Her responsibilities include the overall operations of the athletic department and personnel management for more than 120 coaches, athletic trainers, and athletic department staff. She is also responsible for budget management, athletic facilities oversight and development, IHSAA compliance, and athletic duty roster management. Ericson also serves the Culver campus community with her administrative roles in the Academic Department Chairs team, the Center for Leader and Character Development, the Student Records Committee, the Wellness Committee, the Safety Committee, and others.
Ericson came to Culver from the University of South Carolina Upstate, an NCAA Division I university in the Atlantic Sun Conference, where she was the Senior Woman Administrator and Associate AD for Administration and Academics. She also served the university in roles outside athletics as the Director of the Center for Student Success and Director of the Advising Center. She has previous administrative and coaching experience at various schools including Vanderbilt University, University of North Carolina Charlotte, Converse College, the University of Tennessee and the University School of Nashville – a prestigious K-12 independent school and her alma mater.
A native of Nashville, TN, Ericson earned her B.S. degree in Physical Education from Belmont University, where she was a volleyball and basketball student-athlete, and her M.S. degree in Sport Administration from the University of Tennessee. Ericson is joined by her husband Alex, the Culver Girls Academy Head Volleyball Coach, and their three children – Eleanor (CGA ’16), Abby (CGA ’18), and William.
