Parents Letter

We would like to welcome you to Culver and express our thanks for allowing us to share in the education of your child. We want to create a partnership between the Academies and parents as we strive to educate the young men and women in our care. It is our sincere desire to do what is best for your child, and we ask for your active involvement and supportive assistance as we embark on the school year together.

Making preparations for your child’s year away from home may seem somewhat daunting, especially for new parents. The Parent Handbook will provide you with the basic information needed to prepare for your child’s arrival on campus. There are various “Authorizations” that you as a parent will need to provide as part of your child’s registration to Culver. The Student Life office will obtain these authorizations from you electronically, as you complete the required on-line registration information.

Also included in this handbook is information about how to access the 2019-2020 Academic Calendar online and our Transportation ScheduleWe encourage you to pay particular attention to the School Year Calendar as you make travel plans throughout the school year. Please be mindful of the beginning and ending dates for the various vacation periods as well as Culver's attendance policy. It is important for students to attend all of their classes, and vacations should be scheduled in accordance with the attendance policy and blackout dates. For continually updated information regarding activities, schedules, and events, the Parent Portal offers many links for various avenues of communication.

We hope the information within the handbook will serve as a valuable resource. Questions regarding this material or any other aspect of the Academies may be directed to the Student Life Office at 574-842-8100. We look forward to receiving your registration materials and welcoming your student to Culver in the fall.

Sincerely,

Lynn Rasch, Dean of Girls
