Don Fox

Director

Don Fox joined the Culver Summer School staff as the director in November 2013. A graduate of Culver Military Academy in 1975, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1979.  He then went on to law school at Wake Forest University, and was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corp in 1982.  His active duty assignments included tours as a trial and defense counsel and serving on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations at the Pentagon.  In 1987 he earned an LL.M. in International Law from The George Washington University.

As a civilian lawyer for the Department of Defense, Don worked in the Navy General Counsel’s Office before moving to the Air Force to serve as Air Force Deputy General Counsel.   In 2008, Don was appointed as the General Counsel and Principal Deputy Director of the United States Office of Government Ethics.  He was responsible for establishing and maintaining ethics rules and uniform standards of conduct for nearly 4 million civilian employees and members of the military.

Don, his wife Tracy, and children have a long association with Culver. Don served as counselor for Naval company III for two summers in 1979 and 1980 and worked as a Specialty Camp staff member.

Don and Tracy have two children Wes and Jody CGA‘10, who both attended several years of Specialty Camp.
