Culver's 1,800-acre campus
includes the country's largest indoor riding hall, the
Vaughn Equestrian Center; an airport, Fleet Field, with
four Piper Cherokee 140 aircraft, a 2,400-foot paved
runway and a 2,500-foot sod runway; a 600-acre Bird
Sanctuary with extensive horse-riding trails; and a
nine-hole golf course.
Outdoor athletic facilities
include a football field and an all-weather track, a
varsity baseball diamond, eleven intramural playing
fields, fifteen tennis courts, several soccer fields, and
the golf course and clubhouse. The boathouse on Lake
Maxinkuckee is the base for rowing and other boating
activities. The John W. Henderson Ice Arena provides a
year-round facility for ice hockey, figure skating and
leisure skating, offering an NHL and Olympic-sized rinks.
The McMillen Athletic
Center contains two gymnasiums, three basketball courts,
an indoor track, two tennis courts, practice golf tees, an
eight-lane pool and separate diving tank, rooms and
apparatus for fencing and gymnastics, an archery range and
seven courts for handball, racquetball or squash.
Students may choose from
among twenty separate sports which provide participation
on 58 freshman, junior varsity, and varsity sports teams.
Club teams, leisure time sports, and an extensive
intramural program are also offered to students in both
academies, who share the same
athletic facilities.

The
Steinbrenner Recreation Center houses three
basketball courts, two fencing rooms, a wrestling room, an
indoor track and tennis court, four handball courts and
two racquetball courts. In addition, a new,
state-of-the-art
fitness center features rowing machines,
stationary bicycles, weight machines, and free weights.

The Fleet Gymnasium and McMillen
Athletic Center feature locker rooms, two gymnasiums,
an indoor pool with separate diving tank, class rooms, and
offices for coaches, athletic trainers, physical education
instructors, and the athletic director. Also located
inside is the Denton Athletic Hall of Fame, which
recognizes Culver alumni who have excelled athletically at
Culver, in college, or professionally.
