Thursday, February 1, 2007 Plymouth gets ‘Penn-ed’; CMA falls to Mishawaka Staff Report SOUTH BEND — At the South Bend Clay Team Regional competition last night, the Plymouth Rockies ran into some stiff competition, while the CMA Eagles faced an even tougher opponent. In the first match of the night, the Mishawaka Cavemen defeated the Eagles 48-15. In the loss, the Eagles’ 130-pound wrestler, Roman Clark, pinned Mishawaka’s Anthony Lewis with 30 seconds remaining in the third period. Along with that victory, CMA also won via decisions by Josh Workman (140), Garrett James (145) and Branden James (160). Following CMA’s loss, the Rockies then took the mat against the Penn Kingsmen, losing 52-9. Plymouth received three victories by decision in the match, those coming from James Letsinger (125), Bryce Sheehan (145) and an 8-6 overtime win by Derrick White at 160. In the third match, the Cavemen dominated the Kingsmen, winning 47-9. With the regional win, the Cavemen now advance to the Rochester Semistate on Feb. 7, where they will face Lafayette Jefferson. Though their teams lost last night, many Plymouth
and CMA wrestlers will now compete at the individual regional competition
at 9 a.m. on Saturday, also being held at Clay. Among the Plymouth
wrestlers at the individual competition will be: Chase Lewandowski (112),
Chuck Holmquest (119), Letsinger (125), Andy Hacha (130), Zach Naas (140),
Sheehan (145), David Read (152), White (160), John Popi (171), Bradley
(189), Drew Flora (215) and Justin Deurloo (285). Wrestlers representing
CMA at the individual competition will be: Devin Vass (103), Alex Canacci
(119), Daniel Young (125), Clark (130), Kevin Dobbyn (135), Workman (140),
G. James (145), Brock Reynolds (152), B. James (160) and Robert Barbe
