Col. Kelly Jordan
Commandant of CadetsCol. Kelly C. Jordan is a Colorado native and a retired Army lieutenant colonel who served for over 21 years in the Infantry in mechanized and light units, including service in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm before retiring from active duty in 2007. He received his BA from the Virginia Military Institute, and his MA and Ph.D. in Military History from The Ohio State University. He specializes in 20th century post-WWII land warfare, the Korean War, limited war, leadership, and strategy. He is the author of numerous publications, and he is an award winning professor who has served on the faculties of the United States Military Academy at West Point, the United States Army Command and General Staff College, the United States Naval War College, the American Military University, and the University of Notre Dame. He is married and has two children. Kelly is an avid runner and skier (both downhill and cross-country), a Notre Dame sports fan, and he has had a lifelong fascination with military schools and military education, making his present assignment as the Commandant of CMA a perfect fit.
