CULVER – Diamond Rio, whose very first release climbed to #1, will bring
its special blend of country music and lyrics to Eppley Auditorium on the
Culver Academies campus for a special Fall Parents Weekend concert on
Friday, Sept. 21, at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices for this special concert
event, sponsored by the Culver Parents Association, are $30 for orchestra
level and mezzanine seating and $25 for balcony. All seats are reserved.
Diamond Rio’s “Meet in the Middle” was the first debut single in
history to top the country chart. In the 15 years since, the group has had
its share of hits including “How Your Love Makes Me Feel,”
“Unbelievable,” “One More Day,” “I Believe,” and “You’re
Gone.”
Diamond Rio is a country band with a sound like no other. The group
straddles a fine line while defying tradition. Together, Diamond Rio
members Jimmy Olander, Dana Williams, Dan Truman, Gene Johnson, Brian
Prout, and Marty Roe have created a remarkable track record of awards,
chart-topping hits, and critical acclaim, along the way selling more than
10 million albums, with each release certified Gold or Platinum.
Collectively earning Vocal Group of the Year honors six times from the
Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music, Diamond Rio
recently received its 14th consecutive CMA Vocal Group of the Year
nomination in 2006, the most of any group. With nine No. 1 hits, 15 Top
Five singles, and 13 Grammy nominations, these 1998 Grand Ole Opry
inductees have consistently demonstrated the level of musicianship and
amazing talent that made them country music’s most awarded and nominated
group throughout the 1990s.
Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy Diamond Rio in concert in the
refurbished Eppley Auditorium on the Culver Academies campus. For tickets
