your football glories in History on Review...
There's a nip in
the air and the gridiron is heating up. For your viewing
pleasure History

at Culver. Coach Russ Oliver is in his prime in a
clip from the 1940 homecoming game against Morgan Park, a 13-0
victory. Then Culver’s Flying Squadron does
combat with St. John’s
in 1953. A big win for CMA, of course, 40-6.

Culver featured
The September 2007 issue of Indianapolis
Woman features an article about Culver Summer
Schools and Camps’ connection with Christel House. The article
focuses on one of the South African Christel House girls who
attended camp on scholarship. Christel House is based in
Indianapolis.
Fly-fishing instruction
Thirty Woodcraft
campers each were introduced to fly fishing this
past summer, thanks to the generosity of the St. Joe River
Valley Fly Fishers and the Federation of Fly Fishers. SJRVFF
and FFF member Charlie Ray provided instruction using the rods, reels and line loaned to Culver by the
two organizations. Each session covered casting, fly tying,
tying knots, fishing etiquette and stewardship. The curriculum
was based on that provided by the FFF and the Boy Scouts. The
final session of each class put all the instruction into
practice as campers attempted fly fishing on
Lake
Maxinkuckee
using their own flies.
