PARCHMAN NAMED U.S. LACROSSE HIGH SCHOOL ALL-AMERICAN

Senior leads Culver Academy to second state title in three years, graduates the next day

Baltimore native Jack Parchman, son of Todd '72 and Bryn Parchman, led the Culver Academy Eagles lacrosse team to the Indiana High School state championship on May 29 in Indianapolis.

He scored four goals in the Eagles’ 14-6 victory over Carmel High School. Following the game, the senior midfielder was named a U.S. Lacrosse High School All-American. A co-captain, he also was a first-team all-state selection and named Culver’s Most Valuable Player, tallying 90 points for the season. Beginning in 30 days, Parchman will report to the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he will continue to play as the first Division I recruit in the 20 years of Culver lacrosse. Parchman was a four-year letterwinner in lacrosse and three-year letterwinner in football, earning Academic All-State honors in the latter sport.

Parchman attended Gilman School in Baltimore through the eighth grade. While at Culver, he served as the chairman of the Honor Council and as Squadron Commander. He received the James Bleakly Award as the outstanding officer in Culver’s famed Black Horse Troop, which has marched in 10 of the last 11 Presidential Inaugurals.

These honors came in addition to his commitment to excellence in the classroom, exemplified by the three Gold A awards he has earned by achieving grade-point averages of 3.7 or better during a given semester. This past spring, Parchman and several teammates gave back to the local community in a series of clinics that provided free instruction to youth lacrosse players.
