Twenty-one Named to Cum Laude Society
 

      Twenty-one seniors and first classmen were invited to join the Culver Chapter of the Cum Laude Society during the 2000-2001 school year. Those selected—nine cadets and 12 girls from—were honored at a scholarship banquet during Spring Parents Weekend.

            Founded in 1906, the Cum Laude Society’s purpose is to recognize academic excellence in secondary schools. Membership is restricted to students in the top 20 percent of their senior class and is determined by a vote of each chapter’s faculty committee. Those students named for 2000-2001 were:

            Sarah Bahr of Tower from Dayton, Ohio

            Sarah Falcon of Tower from Peoria, Ill.

            Heather Fritz of Ciel from Bartlesville, Okla.

            Cesar Gutierrez of Troop from Nuevo Leon, Mexico

            Justin Hershberger of Band from Culver, Ind.

            I-Tien Hsieh of Linden from Feng-Yuang City, Taiwan

            Jonathan Huang of Band from Taichung, Taiwan

            Man Ho Kong of Company B from Quarry Bay, Hong Kong

            Jo Ann Lee of Benson from Munster, Ind.

            Fung Li of Battery A from Sheung Shui, Hong Kong

            Chan-Ching Lin of Battery A from Taipei, Taiwan

            Katherine Martha of Linden from Pittsburgh

            John Trummer of Band from Farmington Hills, Mich.

            Ali Turney of Tower from Marshfield, Wis.

            Susan Walker of Benson from Glen Ellyn, Ill.
