Christian Hernandez has been promoted to Regimental
Commander of the Corps of Cadets at The Culver
Academies. The Regimental Commander is the highest ranking
cadet at Culver, responsible for the administration and general efficiency of the 400-member
Corps of
Cadets.
The
son of Mrs. Delores Heim and Mr. John Heim, both of
Chicago, Hernandez is a senior and will serve as the
highest ranking cadet for a term of approximately
three months.
During
his four years at Culver, Hernandez has held
progressively higher leadership positions.
As a sophomore, he was selected to become a
member of the Honor Guard, the elite organization for
cadets in the Infantry battalion.
As a junior, he received the Col. C.F. McKinney
Saber, presented annually to the most outstanding
second classman in the Infantry.
A
three-year varsity wrestler, Hernandez received the
“Most Improved Award” as a sophomore.
As
Regimental Commander, Hernandez will be responsible
for the internal administration and supply, training,
morale, and general efficiency of the Corps of Cadets;
know the specific duties of all cadet officers and
hold them responsible for their performance; be an
ex-officio member of the Honor Council; be responsible
for the new cadet system; plan and administer the
Achievement Guidon competition; evaluate and submit recommendations
for cadet promotions and reductions; command all
formations and assemblies; and conduct Command and
Staff meetings.
