The world will be watching on September 25 as a contingent of young men and women from Culver Academies — Troopers and Equestriennes mounted on the horses of Culver’s famed Black Horse Troop — carry the flags of the United States of America, the State of Kentucky, and the FEI World Equestrian Games in the Opening Ceremonies of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

On Sunday, September 26, the Lancers and the Equestriennes will perform in the Park’s Equine Village, accompanied by the Lancer Band.  Afterward, Culver will host a barbecue at Walnut Hall Stock Farm, which is adjacent to the Kentucky Horse Park.  Also, Culver will have an admissions booth at the Equine Village within the Park throughout the 16-day showcase. Click on the Culver @ WEG icon above for a brochure highlighting Culver's participation and the school's special events at The Games.

  About the Games

This prestigious world-class equestrian event is being held in the United States for the first time and will draw more than 800 athletes and 900 horses from more than 60 countries.  The 16-day Games showcase world-class equestrian athletes competing for championships in eight equestrian sports.

The Opening Ceremonies and the Games will be broadcast on NBC Sports, which has made the largest commitment to network coverage of equestrian sport in U.S. television history.

Held at the Kentucky Horse Park, the games are expected to draw more than 300,000 attendees and millions of television viewers from around the world.
The financial impact on Lexington is comparable to hosting the NCAA Final Four basketball tournament.
