With a rich variety of offerings, including twenty Advanced Placement courses and electives in every discipline, Culver’s curriculum is designed to meet the needs and cultivate the interests of virtually any student.
Based on the notion that authentic learning takes places only in carefully structured blocks of time, Culver’s curriculum unfolds in an environment in which students focus intensively on three or four subjects in a given term, allowing for deep learning as well as broad exploration. Expectations are high, but so is support.
Academic and college advisors and other learning experts work directly with students, residential counselors and faculty to ensure that each student is inspired to realize his or her fullest potential. And the Academic Dean works closely with the Dean of Faculty to ensure that Culver’s generous professional development resources challenge and support faculty members in the same way.
As a faculty member at Culver Academies, your talents will enhance and build upon the major goals outlined in the mission of the school, specifically providing the best whole person education and cultivating each student’s character.
All faculty and staff members are expected to contribute to the larger community as a club leader, extracurricular sponsor, mentor or coach. We also have an opportunity to engage students in the dorms, barracks, or on campus in roles such as library proctor or study hall supervisor.
Regardless of the venue, we at Culver Academies value the extra lengths the adults within our community go while serving our students. It’s what makes us unique. It’s what, in our opinion, enhances our status as the best college preparatory school in the nation at shaping the minds, bodies and spirit of all enrolled.
