Culver Summer Schools and Camps
Ground School Instructor

General Summary: Culver Summer Schools and Camps is a dynamic 6 week summer experience that involves over 1300 young people ranging in age from nine to seventeen. The 6 week camp consists of Woodcraft Camp for ages 9 through 12 and Upper Camp for ages 13 through 17. Culver Summer Specialty Camps is a 7 day program with emphasis on a particular athletic/outdoor skill selected by the camper.

Job Description: The Ground Instructor is responsible for training students in the Upper Camp program Fundamentals of Aviation in our ground school program. Topics include flight history, intro to the air plane; aircraft engine, aircraft parts and their functions, and basic aerodynamics. Training on Frasca Flight Simulator, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Private Pilot Certification, Federal Aviation Regulations, Air Traffic Control (ATC) procedures for use in the National Airspace System (NAS) of the USA are also topics to be covered by the instructor. 

This is a temporary summer position. Instructors will teach 6, 45 minute classes per day, and provide supervision for students. Housing, meals and competitive salary are provided 

Education and Experience: 
Applicants must have one year of college. Three positions require candidate to possess at least an unrestricted U.S. FAA Private Pilot Certificate, single engine land. Other position requires candidate to be a Certified Flight Instructor.
