"...we think it's important to impart to our children the sense of collective responsibility we all have to not only replenish that well but to build new ones."
Two of the values we want to instill in our kids are the importance of education and the responsibility to contribute. We know that they greatly appreciate the special opportunity they have by attending Culver and that the expectation is that they use this foundation to pursue life-long learning. We also hope that they learn how important it is to their responsibility to contribute and to give back, not because they are required to but out of responsibility. We think they learn both lessons by seeing what we value – by both providing them with the opportunity to attend Culver and in contributing to The Culver Fund.
It has been said that we all drink from the wells dug by others and we think it's important to impart to our children the sense of collective responsibility we all have to not only replenish that well but to build new ones. With example being the best teacher, we give to The Culver Fund in the hopes that our kids learn that, if able, we should all give, not because we have to, but rather because replenishing wells is the right thing to do.
