Jeanette Shown joined Culver Academies in 2011 as the Research Manager. She is the former CEO of Prospero's Pen Technology, a digital game studio. Recently relocated from Seattle, Washington, where she studied New Media, Human Computer Interaction and Communication Behavior at the University of Washington. She has also worked for Microsoft and Sierra Entertainment, Blizzard and consulted for HerInteractive. She is a copy editor for the International Game Developers Association, member of the New Media Consortium, Digital Eve and is a founding member of the Association of Internet Researchers. Ms. Shown attended Indiana University, the University of Notre Dame, and the University of Washington, Seattle. She is noted for her research on how computer code molds human behavior. Her husband, James Shown, recently retired from the U.S. Army and is employed in data security. Currently they have a family of four-leggeds, dogs, cats and one Morgan horse.
