Looking for an evening’s entertainment like you’ve never seen or heard before? Then you will want to be part of the audience for the performance of Stringfever on Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14) on the campus of Culver Academies.

The Broadbents – three brothers and a cousin – will be in concert at 7:30 p.m., bringing their electric instruments and live beat-boxing to the stage of Eppley Auditorium. The Huffington Concert Series performance is open to the public and ticket information is available at (574) 842-7058.

Brothers Giles, Ralph, and Neal and cousin Graham are world-class musicians playing five- and six-stringed electric violins, viola, and cello. Tabbed as the world’s first genetically modified string quartet, this British foursome combines exceptional musical skill with a real talent for involving and engaging audiences to provide a night of unforgettable entertainment.

A typical Stringfever performance includes the quartet’s unique, acclaimed version of Ravel’ s “Bolero” with all four Broadbents playing one cello simultaneously. They challenge the audience to play “Name That Tune” as they race through 20 of the best-loved movie themes in one breathless arrangement. Their helter-skelter 007James Bond medley is an absolute killer. And the breathtaking signature finale features “The History of Music . . . in Five Minutes.”
