Ryan Miller enters his first season as a coach with the Culver hockey program and will serve as the head coach of the U16 Tier I team in 2011-2012. Prior to Culver, Miller served as the head coach for Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, NH. In his time at Kimball Union Miller rebuilt the Wildcats from a bottom tiered team to a New England contender. Under Miller the Wildcats posted a Lakes Region title, a Belmont Hill-Nichols Holiday Tournament title, a Piatelli/Simmons New England Championship, a NEPSHC East regular season title and a berth in the Elite 8 Playoffs; including a record of 70-30-7 in his last three seasons. In four years Miller recruited and coached players who are playing for or are committed to Vermont, Maine, Northeastern, Yale, UMass Amherst, Middlebury as well as one 2010 NHL draft pick. 

A native of Spokane, WA, Miller was a three year Prep player for Culver from 1996-1999 and was a two time Jim Henderson MVP Award winner and captain. After Culver, Miller attended the University of Vermont as a student-athlete and served as captain his senior season. At Vermont, Miller was one of twelve senior student-athletes to win an Athletic Department award; the Russell O. Sunderland Trophy presented to the senior who has persevered over obstacles throughout their Vermont career.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2003. Upon graduation Miller entered graduate school at Miami University and earned a Master of Science degree in Sport Studies in 2006 while serving as a volunteer assistant with the Varsity team as well as acting as head coach for the club team. Miller is active in the USA Hockey summer development camps coaching both the select 14 and 15 camps as well as participating in several USA Hockey Coaches Clinics. 

Miller and his wife Jessica reside in Culver and are expecting their first child in September 2011.
