The Huffington Scholars Program is open to those who have displayed academic, citizenship, and character excellence, as well as outstanding talent in the visual arts or theater. Self-nomination and applications are accepted. The staff of the Admissions Office and the Huffington Scholars Selection Committee will be analyzing the applications, narrowing the list, and making the final selections. Competition for a coveted Huffington award is intense.

Applicants must have submitted all requirements of their Culver application and have submitted a Merit Scholarship application by the December 15 deadline to be considered for the scholarship. 

Candidates are expected to demonstrate the following: a strong commitment to and ability in the visual and performing arts (painting, photography, sculpture, film, and theater), a record of high achievement in all academic pursuits (must maintain at least a 3.4 GPA), leadership potential through organizations, clubs, and teams, high moral integrity, evidence of responsible citizenship and community service, a sense of caring for others, strong communication skills, and mental and physical vitality.

The scholarship covers: full tuition, room and board, and a summer visual/performing arts experience between the junior and senior year.
