Scholarship Recipients
Lori Bin
Hometown: Canton, MI
Interests, Clubs, and Sports: Dancevision, Model UN, Leadership Committee for Africa (LCA), Relay for Life, Community Service Council, Ron Rubin School for the Entrepreneur, Student Ambassadors Organization (SAO), Global Studies Institute (GSI), Math Forum, Piano
Volunteer Activities: Riley Dance Marathon, Relay for Life, LCA, and Community Service Council events (community clean-up day, South Bend Center for the Homeless, etc.)
Favorite Class: I loved the senior humanities electives I took this year- Speech and Myth and Literature. Although they were only one term, the unconventional subject matter and great teachers made them so much fun.
Favorite Place to Study: The library
Favorite aspect of Culver: It is impossible to choose a single aspect of Culver I like best. The challenging curriculum and variety of opportunities (classes, clubs, sports, etc.) are intellectually stimulating and never fail to keep me busy and interested. However, the strong relationships I have forged here I will carry with me for the rest of my life, something that I will always be grateful toward Culver for. I have grown so close to the students, faculty, and even Head of Schools during my four years here.
Role Model: My parents. As cliché as it sounds, they are the epitome of hard work, dedication, empathy, ambition, and selflessness, qualities that I admire and hope to emulate in my work and the way I treat others. I look up to them.
Top 3 goals for this school year: Successfully honor in dance, maintain my 4.0 GPA, and make the most of my remaining time at Culver.
