Rowan Farrell
CGA 2014Hometown: Indianapolis, IN
Interests, Clubs, and Sports: I am in SAO, Greenlife, Roll Call (yearbook staff), Model UN, Sin Fronteras, and the Leadership Committee for Africa.
Volunteer Activities: I volunteer at the Special Olympics, Culver community cleanup days, and I serve at Gleaners Food Bank when I am home.
Favorite Class: AP United States History
Favorite Place to Study: The Ithaka Lounge
Favorite aspect of Culver: The abundant and diverse opportunity to learn, both in the classroom and out of it.
Role Model: Besides my mother, I look towards successful individuals that made their lives out of their passions, like Yousuf Karsh, a brilliant photographer who photographed many of the most recognizable faces in history, or Melinda Gates, who, though she could easily relax in leisure the rest of her life, continues to tirelessly advocate for human rights, especially those of women.
Top 3 goals for this school year: Receive an A in AP Chemistry, get a 5 on both the AP US History and APLAC exams and get accepted to and attend an amazing summer program in either Costa Rica, Spain, Australia, Italy, or New Zealand and subsequently attend.
Although Junior year has proved to be an incredible challenge due to a difficult course load and several extracurricular activities, I feel that I have grown as a student and a person more this year than any other in my life. It has been a year full of hard classes, very late nights, new challenges in leadership and Dancevision, losses, triumphs, and opportunity and I am loving every minute of it.
