Nicholas Curtain
CMA 2014Hometown: Anchorage, AK
Interests, Clubs, and Sports: Student Ambassador, Green Life, Hockey, Golf, Lacrosse, ASC peer tutor
Volunteer Activities: During the school year I have been active in Community Service Council events and at home the majority of the volunteer work I have participated in involves youth hockey. When I saw that I could give back to the game by helping young children I took advantage of the opportunity. Helping younger kids learn the game I love gives me the feeling that I can make a difference for them.
Favorite Class: US History
Favorite Place to Study: My favorite place to study is my room because it is quiet and comfortable.
Favorite aspect of Culver: My favorite part of Culver is people and the atmosphere they create. Everyone is close and you make great connections with friends and staff. Additionally, students are driven and committed to doing the best work they can.
Role Model: My role model since arriving at Culver has been Jake Kurdziel. Jake was a sophomore my freshman year and was one of the first people I met at Culver. He gave me my first campus tour, was the first student leader I worked with and has been like an older brother to me. Jake has persevered through many hardships in the three years I've known him but I've always admired his ability find the positives around him.
Top 3 goals for this school year: My top academic goal is to maintain a good GPA but beyond that I hope to build my understanding in each of my classes while preparing for college. I also hope to represent Culver with respect while providing a positive example for new students. Finally, I want to take the fullest advantage of my dwindling time on campus.
