CGA 2015Hometown: Chesterfield, MO
Interests, Clubs, and Sports: Greenlife, Model UN, the Quill, Human Rights Council, flute choir, crew (rowing), swimming, sleeping, cookies, and panda bears.
Volunteer Activities: Most volunteer opportunities at Culver are events organized for the academies or for the town of Culver, such as the 5K4DRC, Hunger Banquet series, or being a crossing guard on Halloween night. When I was younger I used to volunteer at the local food bank, the Missouri Humane Society, and packaged gift bags for soldiers overseas.
Favorite Class: AP Biology and AP Calculus, as they’re both extremely stressful and have a heavy course load, but both offer a lot of new information and learning experiences. The fact that there is an axolotl in the AP Bio room doesn’t hurt either.
Favorite Place to Study: My favorite place to study is my bed. I often (not as often as I would like) study the science of sleeping and the regenerative properties it has on the exhausted teenager. However, the most efficient place to study is at the library.
Favorite aspect of Culver: One thing Culver teachers do really well is connect with students on a personal level. The fact that I’ve been to the Dean of Girls’ home to bake a cake with her daughter speaks volumes about the amazing adults that help run this community and the bonds they form with students.
Role Model: When I came in as a freshman, many of the upperclassmen amazed me with their poise, confidence, and knowledge. I still look up to and keep in touch with many of them and always have more to learn from their advice.
Top 3 goals for this school year: To make 5’s on all four of my AP tests, to reach my goal time in rowing, to grow as an individual in general.
