Hometown: Orlando, FL

Interests, Clubs, and Sports: This year in athletics, I continued to focus on rowing for the Culver crew time in both the fall and spring seasons. My interest in music manifested in participation in the Protestant Praise Band and concert band, as well as a trip to New York to perform with the American Honors Band at Carnegie Hall.

Volunteer Activities: My most significant volunteer activity this year was my role as co-founder and leader of the Hunger Fighters Project, a senior service project designed to raise awareness about global food insecurity. Activities included an Oxfam America Hunger Banquet, a Belly Flop for Full Bellies fundraiser, an ice-cream sale, and $5000 raised to package 21,000 meals for needy communities in Indiana and Romania.

Favorite Class: I currently love AP Spanish. After living in Bolivia for a month this summer (participating in such activities as Incan ceremonies and guinea pig cooking), I have been thoroughly obsessed with Latin American cultures and the Spanish language. Learning another language is both a challenge and a thrill, and I hope to continue pursuing fluency in Spanish.

Favorite Place to Study: Sitting on my bed with a ton of pillows, stuffed animals, and my roommate. And snacks.

Favorite aspect of Culver: I love that Culver is absolutely what you make of it. This place puts the dedicated faculty, amazing facilities, unparalleled opportunities and relationships waiting to be born right in front of you, and all you need to do to truly live the Culver experience is to soak it all up, as much as you can before you have to leave.

Role Model: Currently my younger brother for always putting others before self, and for his ability to keep on truckin’ no matter what happens.

Top 3 goals for this school year: Gain skills from the classroom and prefect system that will help in college and beyond, never stop improving (especially in crew), live every moment of this year as if I’m walking through the arch tomorrow.

The Culver experience can’t be explained until you make it your own. Do just that and you will understand everything that I could possibly fill in this space.
