Shadi Bakour ’09 |
A native of San Carlos, California, who attended Carlmont High School as a freshman, Shadi is a straight-A student and avid soccer player and martial artist. He also plays the trumpet and saxophone and has been a member of the math club and a volunteer math tutor since seventh grade. | ||||
Shaun is from Peoria, Illinois, where she attended Washington Gifted School. She played soccer and volleyball in junior high school, as well as performing in the concert and jazz bands. Shaun served as a “Big Sister,” on the yearbook committee, as a part of the student mentor program, and in the environmental club. |

Ashley Eberhart ’09 |
Ashley enters as a sophomore after attending Downers Grove South High School in suburban Chicago. She was her junior high school co-Valedictorian in 2005. Ashley has been a concert-band percussionist and ardent horseback rider the past few years. She also participated frequently in religious education retreats and service projects. | ||||
Kristen is a native of Culver who grew up attending Culver Summer Schools and Camps. Her mother, Lori, is a math teacher at the Academies. She participated in volleyball, basketball, track and field and swimming and diving throughout junior high school. A clarinet and piano player, Kristen also enjoys painting and singing in the choir. She was a member of the National Junior Honor Society and has been a member of the 4-H club for eight years. |

Corinne Henning ’10 |
In addition to her academic attributes, Corinne arrives at the Academies as a standout hockey and soccer player. The St. Paul, Minn., native also has participated in concert choir and on the tech crew that sets up equipment for school events the past two years. She was a member of student council and a frequent volunteer at the Humane Society. | ||||
Sihua now lives in Greenfield, Indiana, after leaving China in 2002. In seventh and eighth grade, she participated in the Indianapolis Children’s Choir, band, choir and was a member of student council. A straight-A student for three years and counting, Sihua also was “Math Student of the Year” two years in a row. |

David Zaccaria ’10 |
David hails from Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and was a committed soccer, basketball and baseball player throughout junior high school. He also was a percussionist in the orchestra and has given piano recitals for six years. An editor of the yearbook and member of the “Mathcounts” team, David was elected class treasurer last year and served as a volunteer at a homeless shelter since seventh grade. | ||||
