Meet The Faculty
Dr. John Yeager
Dr. John Yeager is a member of the Wellness Education department and the Director of the Center for Character Excellence. He joined the Culver Academies Wellness Education department in fall of 2000. Prior to coming to Culver, he was on faculty in the School of Education at Boston University and an associate scholar in BU’s Center for the Advancement of Ethics and Character. His emphasis in Wellness Education is on building strengths and assets promote health behavior.
He earned an EdD in Health Education from Boston University and has masters’ degrees in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and Health Education from Worcester State (MA) College. His bachelor’s degree is in Physical Education and Health from Boston State (UMass/Boston) College.
As the head boy’s lacrosse coach from 2001-2004, his teams won two Indiana State Championships. He currently assists with both the boy’s and women’s programs.
Also, he is the Director of Culver’s Center for Character Excellence, and is the author/co-author of Character and Coaching – Building Virtue in Athletic Programs, and Our Game: The Character and Culture of Lacrosse.
His wife, Laura, the Stewardship Manager in the Development Department, have a daughter, Megan.
