Lauren Coil-Sherck joined the Culver Academies' Science Department in 2009.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics from Kenyon College in Gambier, OH.  Ms. Coil-Sherck taught Chemistry and Physics at The Ellis School in Pittsburgh, PA and at Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, MA prior to coming to Culver.  In the summer of 2007, she attended the Klingenstein Summer Institute offered by Teacher's College at Columbia University.

Ms. Coil-Sherck's academic interests lie heavily in the Physics First movement and Modeling Instruction.  At Culver, she teaches Physics First and she is the assistant coach for the Varsity Quizbowl team and coaches the Freshman/Sophomore Quizbowl team.

Ms. Coil-Sherck lives in Culver with her husband, John Sherck, a composer.
