Bruce Burgess

Bruce Burgess joined the Culver Academies’ Department of Modern and Classical Languages for the 1983-84 school year and he returned in 1990. He earned a B.A. in French and Political Science from Central Michigan University in 1979 and an M.A. in Romance Linguistics from the University of Michigan in 1983. He currently teaches French 2 Honors, Advanced French Grammar, Contemporary French Culture, French Composition through Literature, and Advanced Placement French Language. In addition to his work at the Culver Academies, he taught for twelve years at public and private schools throughout the Midwest, in France, and in Senegal.

Outside of the classroom, Mr. Burgess is a timekeeper/scorekeeper for CMA basketball, Culver’s coordinator for the Indiana University Honors Program in Foreign Languages, the sponsor of Culver’s chapter of La Société honoraire de français, and a mentor to students in Battery A.
