Meet The Faculty
David Powell
David Powell joined the Culver Academies’ Mathematics department in January of 1973. He earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in mathematics and physics from Indiana University followed by a master's degree in mathematics education. His areas of interest include computer programming, which he pursues in the Culver summer program as well. The holder of the Dicke Chair of Computer Science, he has taught the AP computer science class for a number of years. He currently teaches computer programming, Pre-Calc 1 and statistics. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he also helps sponsor the campus chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, gathering weekly. His wife, Kim, works with the JESSE program, and together they have three sons and a daughter—all graduates of the Academies' winter and summer programs.
