Meet The Faculty
Dan Baughman
Dan Baughman joined the Culver Mathematics Department in 1986. He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics in 1970 and a master's degree in 1976 from Western Michigan University. His areas of study were mathematics, physics and education. He currently teaches Pre-Calculus I, Honors Algebra 2 and AP Calculus. He also sponsors the Culver participation in the American Mathematics Competition (AMC) and Indiana Math League (IML). Prior to arriving at Culver Academies, he taught eleven years in northern Indiana public schools and three years at Kubasaki High school in Okinawa, Japan with the Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DODDS) system. During the spring and fall sports season he serves a safety boat patrol for the Crew program using a background in water safety from scuba instructor training and Indiana Emergency First Responder training. He is married to Carolyn Baughman and they have two children and four grandchildren.
