The Math Forum provides an opportunity for students interested in mathematics to tackle challenging problems, to collaborate in problem solving, and to compete at the state, national and international level in mathematics competitions.

Current CHALLENGE Problem

There are four ants (see them? cute huh?)  Each ant is at the corner of a square with side length one unit.  Each ant walks at a rate of 1unit/sec.  If each ant walks “clockwise” (the direction they are facing in the drawing) AND walks directly toward the ant in front of them, how long will it take for the ants to meet in the center of the square?
