Meet The Faculty
William Roth
William Roth (CMA ’63) joined the Culver faculty as a History Department instructor and swimming coach in 1967, having graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, CT. He currently teaches the 10th grade Humanities course, Global Perspectives, and he is the coordinator of the faculty mentoring program. He received his master’s degree in European History from the University of Notre Dame in 1973 and has pursued a variety of graduate courses in Asian and African history as well as programs in adolescent psychology. For several years he served as level chair for the Modern History and Global History courses for 10th graders. In addition, he was a pioneer for the 9th grade America’s Challenge for the Contemporary World course and he has taught the European History AP course. He holds the Vlasic Chair of Teaching.
Mr. Roth was the CMA Swimming Coach from 1967 through 1975 and again from 1988 through 1992. He was the counselor for Company B from 1977 through 1985, college counselor from 1991 through 1994, and advisor to the Alliance for Student Harmony throughout the 1990s. He was the Director of the Culver Specialty Camps from 1985 through 1988.
His wife Susan is the Director of Administrative Services at Culver. They are the parents of three adult children and Culver graduates who are professionals in education, medicine, and law. Bill and Sue are immensely proud of their four grandchildren.
