Richard Battersby
11th Grade ChairRichard Battersby joined the Culver Academies' Humanities Department in 2001. He earned a bachelor's degree in history from Lancaster University in the United Kingdom in 1980, and a master's degree in history from the State University of New York in 2004. His areas of study and teaching interests include American and European History. Mr. Battersby currently teaches 11th-grade Humanities (American Studies with Advanced Placement U.S. History).
Prior to arriving at the Culver Academies, he served in the Royal Air Force for sixteen years. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Mr. Battersby serves as a Barracks Inspector in Band. He is married to fellow Humanities instructor Catherine Battersby, and together they have two children.
