Meet The Faculty
Joseph Horvath
Joseph Horvath, a native of Michigan, joined the Culver Academies’ History Department in the fall of 1982. He earned a bachelor of arts and a master of arts in history from Western Michigan University and a master of arts in Russian from Indiana University.
While at Culver, he has taught courses in Western Civilization, American History, American Literature, Advanced Placement US History, Advanced Placement Government and Politics, Russian History, and Russian Language. Presently, Mr. Horvath is the Personnel Chair of the Humanities Department, formerly having served as Chair of the History Department.
Mr. Horvath previously has served as assistant boys’ basketball coach, assistant boys’ tennis coach, Intern Coordinator, and Summer School Naval counselor. He remains active with the College Board, serving as a Table Leader for grading Advanced Placement Comparative Government and Politics exams.
