Meet The Faculty
Jennifer Cerny
10th Grade ChairJen Cerny joined the Culver Academies' English Department in 2000. She earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of Michigan where her work focused on ethics, continental philosophy, and Marxism. She earned a master's degree in English language and literature from Eastern Michigan University where her areas of interest included medieval and African-American literature and critical theory. She has done supplemental course work in human rights and the Arabic language. Her areas of study and teaching interest include Shakespeare, gender studies, Middle Eastern literature, and global humanities. She currently teaches Shakespeare, Middle-Eastern Literature, and Global Perspectives, the 10th grade humanities course. She serves as Program Coordinator for sophomore humanities.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Ms. Cerny also coaches in the girls' soccer program.
