Emily Uebler12th Grade Chair, Writing Center
Emily Uebler joined the Culver Academies Humanities Department in the fall of 2010. Prior to her arrival at Culver, Mrs. Uebler spent six years at NorthWood High School in Nappanee, Indiana where she taught English and coached the Spell Bowl and English Teams. At Culver, Mrs. Uebler currently teaches American Studies with AP Language and Composition, a junior-level Humanities course. She has also taught Expository Writing, a senior elective. Mrs. Uebler serves on the Humanities Department Leadership Team as the Level 12 coordinator.
In addition to her Humanities Department responsibilities, Mrs. Uebler directs the Culver Writing Center, which includes support and development of the Writing Center Tutor Program. Mrs. Uebler is also a member of the Academic Advising and Huffington Scholarship Committees. Mrs. Uebler is honored to have received the General Delmar T. Spivey Award from the academic department chairs in 2012.
In 2003, Mrs. Uebler earned a bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education from Purdue University in West Lafayette. She completed her master’s degree in Secondary Education at Indiana University-Bloomington in the summer of 2010. Mrs. Uebler is currently continuing her education as a PhD student in Indiana University-Bloomington’s Curriculum Studies Program.
Mrs.Uebler resides in Culver with her husband, J.D., who teaches Humanities 9 at Culver.
