Meet The Faculty
Dr. Jacquie Erwin
Dr. Jacquie Erwin joined the Culver Academies' English Department in 1994. She earned a bachelor's degree from Wellesley College, a master's from Simmons College, and a PhD in English from Northwestern University. Her area of expertise is the work of Jane Austen. At Culver she has taught British literature, Shakespeare, first-level English courses for international students, linguistics, and the AP English literature course. Additionally, she has taught in the ninth grade Humanities program since 2000. She has served as humanities senior level coordinator and now serves as Program Chair for the Humanities Department. She holds the W.A. Moncrief, Jr. Chair of Humanities.
Dr. Erwin serves as an assistant speech coach, having joined the team in 1998. She has served as a facilitator for the Multicultural Awareness Retreat since 1995. She is noted for her distinctive millinery around campus.
With her husband (CMA 1969) she has three children, two of whom attended Culver (CGA '96 and CMA '99).
