Our mission is to provide a diverse collection of resources and instruction in their use that fulfill both the intellectual and recreational needs of all members of our community. We serve as an intellectual center in a comfortable environment with a caring atmosphere where all are welcome.

The Huffington Library's Philosophy
 

The primary function of our library is to serve the learning and teaching needs of students and faculty. Consistent with the Culver Mission Statement, the library attempts to develop the intellectual growth of all students by providing resources and instruction in their use that will allow them to "nurture intellectual curiosity, critical thought, the acquisition of knowledge, creativity, and the development of academic skills."

Our library is a place where all ideas can be considered, analyzed, investigated, and debated in an objective manner. We serve to "open minds" by presenting materials with all points of view concerning the problems and issues of our times and to provide instruction and opportunities for students to develop discriminating taste.

We serve as an extension to the classroom, functioning as a "learning laboratory" where students can independently explore ideas presented in class. While it serves as an extension to the classroom, it also serves as a stepping stone to the information-rich society students will face in their adult life and a place where interests outside the classroom can be pursued.
