Meet The Faculty
Sandy Reavill
Sandra Reavill teaches Mathematics with an interest in reuniting the Arts and Sciences. She earned a Bachelor of Science with honors in independent studies from Charter Oak State University with a split focus on Mathematics and Psychology where she studied how the human brain learns mathematics. She earned a Master of Science in Mathematics for Secondary Educators from Central Connecticut State University where, for her graduate project, after researching the existing models of education for highly gifted youth, she designed and implemented an accelerated curriculum to meet the educational needs of one prodigious youngster. She has presented this research, along with the video record of her work with this student, at the regional meeting of the National Conference for Teachers of Mathematics in Boston and at the annual meeting of the Associated Teachers of Mathematics in Connecticut. She taught at The Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, Connecticut where she was also the director of the Quantitative Resources Center and the Interscholastic Equestrian Team coach and at The Talcott Mountain Academy for Science, Technology and Mathematics where she implemented a yearly Geometric Art retreat with the geometric glass artist Hans Schepker. Sandra is currently enrolled in the 6th year program for Leadership in Mathematics Education K-12 at Central Connecticut State University.
