Culver's theatre program provides instruction for everyone from the beginning to the serious actor. The curriculum includes acting classes of varied level and design to work on different aspects of the craft, including the physical actor, scene work, dance for actors, singing for actors, camera acting, and more.

The technical aspects of the program set the same high expectations for our students. In addition to building sets, hanging and focusing lights, and working sound for student productions, technicians experience working backstage with professional companies from all over the world for our Huffington Concert Series. The Concert Series consists of five to six programs a year, which the theatre program helps to produce on the stage of Eppley Auditorium.

Working with professional actors, musicians, dancers, technicians, and designers is an incredible experience for our students. We also bring in visiting artists for residencies which have included world-renowned actors, singers, and dancers from Broadway and London stages such as Hal Holbrook, Brian Bedford, and David Birney, to name a few.

The program offers two major stage productions a year as well as smaller, more intimate productions in the Eilleen Dicke Theater. Our membership in the International Thespian Society has taken Culver students to regional and state competitions as well as an appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, representing some of the best high school theatre programs in the United States.

The newly renovated Eppley Auditorium and the new Steinbrenner Performing Arts Center offer students a chance to work in state-of-the-art facilities both onstage and backstage.
